FINDING THE ONENESS IN DUALITY

             Imagine for a moment that you have just stepped out into the chilly evening air. You rub your hands together and touch your arms in an attempt to warm up a bit. "It's so cold," you say to yourself. Have you ever stopped to think about this realization?  How is it that you can conceive of the cold? We conceptualize of the cold because we have an awareness of a hot summers day. We tend to look at the world and our experiences in opposites. This is a product of our conditioning. Its just what we know. Naturally this happens on a sub conscious level but if you really stop to think about it, you would have no concept of the fact that it is cold if you did not know warm. The same goes for light and dark, black and white, or heavy or light and so on. Underneath that all is a powerful awareness.

             ONEness is the core of our reality. It IS reality. Recognizing duality gives a more balanced understanding of reality yet it can be very limiting at the same time. Maybe the very topic of this writing is a duality oneness paradox in itself. Here i am describing very opposite concepts. Consider again the feeling of hot and cold. Between these two very different sensations runs a line, connecting the two and creating a spectrum. You have your varying degrees between the perceived hot and cold but still it is part of one over arching idea. Duality and oneness in their own right can be useful views to have but it is when you understand that they are ultimately one, that you are on the right path.

            Is it ever possible to ever truly know oneness once we have the awareness of duality? Oneness is nothing in itself but holds the potential for everything. The whole or oneness never loses contact with its parts.
